Turner Construction story

Turner Construction story

Turner's story is a story of innovation, teamwork and success. They have built some of the tallest and most complex buildings in the world, and have done so while effectively reducing the surprises that mean schedule and cost delays.  Using Building Information Modelling (BIM) with SMART solutions, Turner collaboratively builds digitally first, thus anticipating any costly issues before they become problems. Jane and I worked closely with Dan and Brian from Turner to bring this story to life, and in exchange for our efforts, our team won a MarCom Gold award for this video in 2011. Logos and Branding

Logos and Branding

The first visual impression we get of a business, product or service is usually its logo and visual identity. It's extremely important to communicate character and personality while making a clear distinction from the competition — it should be memorable, relevant and unique. Identity usually starts with a logo or wordmark, but a brand should also have a voice that coexists with a comprehensive visual language, and a guide on how these should be applied. A complete branding identity design extends to other senses beyond just the visual that will bring your entity to life. Contact Jon if you'd like a logo or brand identity created or updated for you.

SMART Board 800 videos

SMART Board 800 videos

The SMART Board 800 series was the first multitouch interactive whiteboard from SMART. The launch video was shot while the product was still in development, so you could imagine their would be some issues while shooting. Despite these, we managed to capture the essence of it's newly found capabilities. We worked with a content developer that created lesson material for us that could exploit these capabilities, and this content eventually became available through SMART Exchange. The concept was that multitouch would make the new interactive whiteboard easy and intuitive to use, and this simplicity would allow children to make connections with things they already do naturally. Four other videos followed, utilizing 3rd party software to show that the capabilities were not limited to proprietary technology. Touch Gestures featured Algodoo a physics simulation software, while Multitouch featured Starry Night astronomy software. The new boards led the market with true multitouch capabilities, and have become widely adopted as the new standard. Worlddidac booth

Worlddidac booth

This 16m x 9m booth debuted at Worlddidac Basel 2008 and won a Communicator Award of Distinction for a trade show exhibit. It was repurposed for Educatice in Paris and BETT 2009 in London. The design was playful, clean and simple. It adopted SMART's new color scheme and was the first to make use of hand-drawn elements to accentuate simple, brief key messages and to highlight touch as a competitive advantage. These appeared in English, German, and French respective to each market.
